School meal grants (Barcelona)

In Barcelona, the Education Consortium manages individual school meal grants through a public call. Pupils from I3 to year 4 of ESO at public and state-funded schools from families with income below the call's thresholds can apply (2025 income is taken into account). Ordinary grants cover 70 % and extraordinary grants up to 100 %; the meal price is €7.83 in general and €7.41 at schools with a lunch break of two hours at most. The application is an online form for pupils enrolled or pre-enrolled for 2026-2027, in several periods: 18 May to 21 June, 8 to 27 September and 28 September to 29 November 2026; 30 November 2026 to 28 February 2027; and from 1 March 2027 until the last day new admissions are accepted that school year.
