Proof of life for a Chinese pension (Consulate General in Barcelona)

People who have already retired in China, have a pension account and receive their pension monthly can complete the proof-of-life check in the "中国领事" app (pension qualification section), with facial recognition; the application is sent to the local social security body in China, which usually reviews it within 10 working days. If identity verification fails, submission does not work or the result does not appear, those living in Catalonia can email the consulate (barcelona@csm.mfa.gov.cn) to book an appointment and get the paper form in person, free of charge. This form only proves that the person is alive: the right to the pension is decided by the paying body in China.
