Vehicle inspection ITV (Catalonia)

In Catalonia the vehicle technical inspection (ITV) is carried out by stations authorised by the Generalitat; the operators are Applus Iteuve, TÜV Rheinland, Controlauto, TÜV SÜD Atisae and Itevelesa. The vehicle's owner must have it pass the inspections that apply. The Generalitat sends owners of vehicles registered in Catalonia the notice of the first periodic inspection; later ones are notified by the entity that carried out the last inspection, if it was at a station in the Catalan network. Frequency for cars (M1): exempt up to 4 years, every two years from 4 years and every year from 10. Mopeds: exempt up to 3 years and then every two years; other motorcycles: exempt up to 4 years and then every two years.
