Non-contributory pension (Catalonia)

In Catalonia the non-contributory pension is support for people without sufficient resources who have not contributed enough for a contributory pension; it ranges from €157.20 to €628.80 and is paid in 14 instalments a year. The retirement pension is for people aged 65 or over with legal residence in Spain who have lived legally in Spain for 10 years between age 16 and the application, two of them consecutive and immediately before it. The disability pension is for people aged 18 to 65 with a recognised disability of 65 % or more who have lived legally in Spain for at least 5 years, two of them consecutive and immediately before. Income may not reach €8,803.20 a year, and household members (spouse and relatives up to the second degree) may not exceed that limit either. It can be requested at any time and is free; for the retirement pension, NIE holders also need the Police foreigner certificate for the last 10 years. Once received, changes in household, residence or income must be reported within 30 days.
