In Barcelona, the volante de residencia proves that a person is registered in the city, showing their address and since when; the volante de convivencia proves where and with whom they are registered on the date it is requested. It is free and can be requested online, by phone, in person or at a kiosk. Its validity depends on the authority requesting it and counts from the date of issue. To prove residence or cohabitation at a Barcelona address where you are no longer registered, or cohabitation on an earlier date, you must request a historical registration certificate.
