Municipal registration (Barcelona)

Barcelona City Council registers on the Padrón people who usually live in the city (or for most of the year, if they live in several municipalities); people living with you can be registered in the same procedure. Registration is compulsory and free, and can be done at any time, online, by phone or in person. People who have no document proving where they live or have no fixed address must do it in person and provide the residence knowledge report (informe de conocimiento de residencia). If a rental contract is provided, it must include the full address, cadastral reference, annual rent, term, start date, payment method and the details and signatures of the owner and the tenant. Nationals of non-EU countries without permanent residence in Spain must renew their registration every two years from the initial registration; otherwise the City Council will remove them from the register.
